You have been feeling pretty weird lately at work. Your boss and co-workers also keep dropping hints that they might let you go after all. In all that, there are some signs you will be fired from your job and it is the best position to be in. Not knowing for certain if you are being fired or not can take a toll on you. In some situations, your employer would set you up for a big failure on your projects.
Before quitting your job, look for these signs you will be fired:
Left out of the loop
Your boss doesn’t come directly to your desk and in fact, take reports from your subordinates. One of the major signs you will be fired is that you are left out of the loop. The boss doesn’t take your opinion on anything important. You are no longer appreciated for what you do. Your work doesn’t seem to have any impact on the company’s performance.
Bad Performance Review
You have been getting successive bad performance reviews. You don’t feel appreciated for your work. Probably because your boss thinks you are not an efficient worker anymore. This can be a great indicator of the signs you will be fired. Your job role seems to be dispensable. It is also possible that they might hire a junior for you to train so you can be replaced if and when you leave. That should ring some alarm bells as well.
Laid off from projects
Not only have you been excluded from any new projects but also your work has been reassigned to others. This is a sign of worry. Your team is already thinking ahead and of ways to replace you. Your boss might also ask you to train the newest guy in your team. All these are major concerns and indicative of the signs you will be fired.
It is one of the clearest signs you will be fired and soon enough when your boss starts ignoring you. He would stop asking you about your progress and not look for some new ideas for you. Another extreme end of the spectrum is when your boss starts micromanaging you. He is constantly looking over your shoulder and watching your every step. He is probably waiting for you to make a mistake.
Co workers’ behaviour
The regular chit-chat and your face time with your boss and co-workers has hit an all-time low. Your co-workers don’t come up to you and they have also started behaving strangely. Either they are aware of what is going to happen or they have sensed what the boss is up to.
Usually people avoid these awkward conversations when they are aware of the situation and try to stay away.
