  • Frac supervisor makes regular reports for the production engineer on the progress of operations as their actions are interrelated
  • Furthermore, frac supervisors aid in implementing steps for reducing any environmental depletion due to drilling operations and keep a check on the same.
  • Prepare written engineering well workover briefs for wellsite supervisors.
  • They are required to review well production on a daily basis to ensure that wells are optimized so as to increase productivity.
  • Also, Frac supervisors also provide engineering support on a variety of subjects, including completion designs, workover, and fishing jobs as well as production facility modifications.

Lastly, responsibilities may even include employee management, inventory maintenance, HSE, and sometimes business planning.

Skills and Salary

Since they report to production engineer and maintain the logistics for the operations, a Frac supervisor should be well-versed with various computing software. Despite their experience, all the Frac supervisors should have a working knowledge of all the equipment and protocols put down by the company. Furthermore, they should be well-acquainted with all the health and safety regulations preferably the ones laid down by the OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration). Lastly, Frac supervisors should be able to work for long hours with irregular and unpredictable shifts.

As per sources, the salary of a Frac supervisor can range from $40,000 to $99,000! Another factor is the company hiring for the job and the time period for which the Frac supervisor is hired. The average salary for this job is approximately $66,769 annually. With that being said, it is likely that a novice may even be paid meagerly or hourly.
