Types of renewables

Renewable energies are available in a wide range of forms. The traditional sources of energy were human labor, water power, and animal power. Windmills and firewood were important sources of energy for many people throughout history. Today, renewable energy sources are becoming more common and are being used for many different purposes. These resources are a great option for home and business owners who wish to reduce their carbon footprint.

Biomass: This form of renewable energy is produced through fermentation of plants. Some sources produce bio fuels, bio diesel, and hydrogen from their biomass. The types of biomass used for electricity production depend on the region. Forest by-products, for example, are used in the United States. Agricultural waste and tree biomass is used in Mauritius and Southeast Asia. These sources of energy are largely sustainable and can be used in place of coal or petroleum.

Solar power: The sun’s rays can be converted to electricity with a photovoltaic cell. Solar panels can be placed on the roof of a building to absorb the sunlight’s rays and store it in a power grid. Wind energy: Using the kinetic energy of moving air, wind energy can be harnessed on land, in seawater, or in freshwater. This source has been used for millennia but has recently become a more common and popular source of electricity. In the United States, there are now more than 16GW of installed capacity for wind energy.

Biomass: The most common source of biomass is wood. This can be either round wood or waste from industrial activities. Biomass is a renewable energy source that can be used for direct heating and to convert into bio fuels. This type of energy is continually used and is sourced from many different sources, including wood, waste, and other industrial materials. In rural areas, biomass is the primary fuel source.
