Email to your boss

Why send an Email to your Boss before you start the job?

Starting a new job on the right foot is your way to the workplace. First few interactions with your manager can set the stage for strong workplace relationships in the times to come. And who doesn’t want a positive work experience? It all begins with the first impression. If you want to make it an everlasting one, you can start off with something as simple as an email to your boss. Even though it sounds simple, it is a gesture that goes a long way in your presence in the organization.

Sample Email to your Boss before you start the job

Hi [Boss’s Name],

Thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to work with you.

I’m very excited to join [Company] in [Number of Weeks/Days] and can’t wait to start working with you and the team! If there’s anything I can read or do ahead of time that would help me hit the ground running, please let me know. I will make sure that I do it.

Hope you have a great rest of the week and see you on the [Date]!

Thank you so much, once again.

[Your Name]

Certainly, you can tweak the email as required. It is also important to keep the timing of the email in mind because that would really set the tone. Sending this email on a Friday afternoon before your Monday start date is not a great idea. It might give the impression that you are someone who doesn’t plan in advance.

I would also like to suggest that if your boss replies to your email and asks you to prepare a few things, you must follow those. Keep an eye on your inbox!

An Email to your Boss before you start your job can make a huge difference

Before you even begin your job, the email to your new boss would convey that you are eagerly looking forward to your role and the workplace. It is a great way to acknowledge that you are happy with the association and excited to start working with the company. Your boss will be happy to see that you are interested and involved enough to initiate this wonderful gesture. Most importantly, this email would give you an opportunity to reestablish your sincerity and commitment towards the new job.

I don’t see any point in missing out on this chance. You cleared the interview, you impressed the managers, and now is your moment to make them believe in you, once again!
