There’s excitement, curiousness, and nervousness too. Starting a new job can be quite overwhelming. But at the same time, it gives you a platform to explore endless opportunities. Right from making the wonderful first impression to building strong work relationships, starting a new job is altogether a different experience. If I look back at my first day at work, I was definitely nervous and was way too conscious about my dress and the people in the office. I didn’t have a checklist with me but I would love to write down one for you. And trust me, it helps.
The checklist you need before starting a new job
Keep Your Best Outfit Ready

It’s your first day at work and you wouldn’t want to arrive shabbily in office. Find your best outfit and keep it ready for the next day. And remember, you have already cleared the interview and now you are a bit aware of the dress code in the office. Decide what to wear depending on the office environment – casual or formal. And yes, footwear too makes a lot of difference.
Double Check Your Commute Time

Your managers were quite impressed with you during the interview. Arrive late on your very first day at work, and ruin it all. Check the route and the commute time properly and make sure you are at least 15-20 mins early than the scheduled time. People won’t frown upon you for being early but you will garner a lot of negative attention if you are late on your first day. So, make sure you double-check your commute time while preparing for the next day.
Keep Your Documents Ready

Important documents like your previous employment papers, salary slips, academic certificates, and degrees are usually checked on the first day of work. The HR briefs about these documents beforehand and in case, you are not aware, it’s always good to carry these documents along. And don’t forget your photo ids. Your day will begin with employment verification.
Figure Out Your Breakfast

There’s absolutely no time to waste on deciding the breakfast in the morning. It’s your first meal that would help you kick start your first day at work. Keep your options ready so that preparing the meal doesn’t take much time. Have a nice, fulfilling breakfast that makes you happy!
Get A Good Night Sleep

Without a good night’s sleep, you won’t be able to start your journey with good energy levels. Yes, you are excited and nervous both but get some rest and sleep at the right time. There’s nothing to worry anymore. You have made it so far and you will have a great start to your career. Take a leap of faith and begin.
