Chevron Corporation is one of the successors of Rockefeller’s Standard Oil. Headquartered in California, Chevron is one of the largest oil companies in the world and appears frequently in the Fortune 500 list of companies.
Operating in the oil and gas industry at an unimaginable scale – in hydrocarbon exploration, refining, and downstream sector – it is shifting its focus to renewable energy as well. It has also dedicated a sum of $2 billion for the acquisition of renewable power ventures.

On 7th August 2018, Chevron announced a donation of $500,000 to American Red Cross from its Chevron Global Community Fund for the support of California Wildfires.
Chevron’s commitment to helping the society when in need is reflected in the words of the CEO, “These fires have had a severe impact on the lives of so many people, both residents, and responders. Our thoughts are with all of them, and we know everyone is working very hard to prevent any further injuries or loss of life.”
Second quarter net income of Chevron reports that it has catapulted by $3.4 billion in six months.

Chevron understands that HIV/AIDS is a global epidemic very early in the early 90s when the world was beginning to grow hatred towards the AIDS patient.
The company’s commitment to helping the AIDS patient dates back to 1986 but this year, they have taken a step forward. It is making sure that its employees and staff have access to PrEP (Pre-exposure Prophylaxis) treatment. It’s a welcome move and sets as a benchmark initiative for the other organisations to follow suit.
