How to become a supplier to Petronas?

Malaysia’s one of the largest E&P company, Petroliam Nasional Berhad (Petronas) started its journey in 1974 and has now become a fully integrated oil and gas multinational. Operating in over 50 countries, the E&P major has expanded its business throughout the value chain of the industry, from exploration to marketing and logistics to technological infrastructures.

In order to participate in the online bidding process of Petronas tenders, a company needs to register itself as a verified vendor with them. The following steps will guide you through the process for the same.

1. Visit the official website of Petronas.
2. Click on Join Us in the menu bar on the top.

3. Scroll down the webpage that opens up and click on Learn more under Be Our Partner.

4. As you click Be Our Partner, you will see four options on the screen:

Option A – Dealership

• Click on the ‘Dealership’ option on the, ‘Be Our Partner’ webpage.

• There will be a download link, click on it to download the ‘Dealership Form.’
• The form is basically an APPLICATION FORM DISTRIBUTOR REPRESENTATIVE COMMERCIAL form which you have to submit to Petronas to become an authorized dealer.
• You will be required to submit this dealership form along with the supporting documents to the Petronas trading office near your area or search the nearest location as provided on the website: mymesra.com.my.

Option B – Our Licensing and registration

• Click on the Our Licensing and registration option given on the ‘Be Our Partner’ page.
• Carefully go through the information given on this webpage and choose the Type of Application accordingly.
• To participate in tender opportunities in the downstream and maritime sector only go for New Registration.

• Read the General Licensing and Registration guidelines at the bottom of the webpage.
• For a new registration, click on the ‘Registration of Suppliers (ROS)’ and below it, there will be a ‘New User ID Registration’ option, click on it create your account.
• The webpage that opens up will have a link for Pre-Registration, click on it to begin creating your account.
• A Sign Up form will open up, fill that form and hit the Register button.

Option C – Connect to eProcurement

• Click on the Connect to eProcurement link on the webpage.
• In the webpage that opens up, click on the link Login to Petronas eProcurement Portal (PePP) below the heading Petronas eProcurement Portal (PePP) or click on the Login Supplier Self Service (SUS) under the heading PETRONAS eProcurement Portal Supplier Self Service (SRM-SUS) which will direct to their SAP network.

• Download the PePP System User Guide for making the most of the procurement portal.
• Study the guidelines carefully and create your account. The documents in the zip folders are your go-to-guide to bidding as well.
